Samade on the Beach

Samade on the Beach is a property on the gorgeous white sandy beach of Ootu on the southern point of Aitutaki in the Cook Islands. The Beach overlooks the turquoise Aitutaki Lagoon with the best swimming on the island of Aitutaki. Directly off the beach, the sea has a soft sandy bottom, no currents and both deep and shallow waters.

The property is fronted by the popular Samade Restaurant and Bar right at the waters edge where one can relax while enjoying the stunning view or one of their meals that are available 7 days a week.

Be sure to book for the 2 special events each week - Tuesday Night Island Nite Buffet Dinner & Show or Sundays BBQ dinner with live entertainment.

The 12 bungalows all enjoy a view of the lagoon, and make it easy to participate in some of the many available activities.

Motor Cycles and cars are readily available making it easy to explore the island, and it is just walking distance to the departure point for day cruises to some of the small islets scattered within this vast lagoon.

The name of the area is Ootu meaning 'Full Moon'. The area was so named when the ancestor Chief Ru landed in the 12th century with his wives, his brothers and their wives and 20 young maidens on a full moon.
